Caramel Sauce

2/3 C white corn syrup
1 1/4 C brown sugar
1/4 C butter
1/4 t salt
2/3 C evaporated milk
2 t caramel flavoring
Combine first four ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook over
medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a
boil and all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool
slightly just until mixture begins to thicken. Slowly whisk in
evaporated milk until blended. Stir in caramel flavor; mix well.
Pour into desired container (s).

Keep refrigerated.

Makes 2 cups
