Amish Baked Oatmeal

Recipe Instructions:

Mix the following ingredients together and pour into 2 pint canning jars (or one quart jar):

3 c. rolled oats
2/3 c. brown sugar or organic sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped walnuts (or other nut; almonds, hazelnuts, etc.)
1/4 c. chopped dates and raisins (or other dried fruit, cherries, blueberries, etc.)

The full recipe will fill one quart jar for a mix-in-a-jar, and the instructions for the labels are:

QUART JAR LABEL:

Amish Baked Oatmeal

Pour contents into bowl. Add 1 cup of milk, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup canola oil and 1/4 cup applesauce (or 1/2 cup melted butter for a more authentic recipe), 2 tsp. vanilla and mix with wooden spoon until combined. Pour into greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350-degrees F for 35-40 minutes.

PINT JAR LABEL:

Pour contents into bowl. Add 1/2 cup of milk, 1 egg, 1/4 cup canola oil (or 1/4 cup melted butter for a more authentic recipe), 1 tsp. vanilla and mix with wooden spoon until combined. Pour into greased 8x8 pan and bake at 350-degrees F for 20-25 minutes.
